Founder & Senior Transition Advisor

Marie Egyed (Brashears) has spent more than 25 years working directly with seniors, families, and professionals across the senior housing and healthcare industry. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, senior living communities, and care teams—supporting seniors through some of the most difficult and time-sensitive transitions of their lives.

 

Over decades of hands-on experience, Marie repeatedly encountered the same challenge: seniors who were clinically or functionally ready for care but unable to move forward because of the practical realities involved—selling a home, managing a move, and navigating the emotional weight of leaving a long-time residence. These experiences led Marie to create Assist Move—to reduce delays, confusion, and stress during critical care transitions.

 

Marie also brings extensive experience in senior care placement, having helped thousands of families identify appropriate assisted living, memory care, and long-term care settings throughout her career. She understands the pressures families face, as well as the challenges professionals encounter when timing, safety, and resources must align.

 

Her work is grounded in long-standing relationships within the senior industry and a deep respect for the trust families and professionals place in her. Marie works closely with senior living communities, hospital discharge planners, care managers, and healthcare providers to help ensure transitions happen thoughtfully and responsibly.

 

Originally from Houston and now based in Grimes County, Marie works with seniors and families throughout the State of Texas. Outside of her professional work, she remains active in charitable efforts supporting children’s cancer research and animal welfare.
